SUBJECT: I'm fine

Hi Kevin,

I just wanted to let you know that I'm fine. I know you stopped by the apartment to see me, but I just want to be left alone. I appreciate your concern and I hope you understand. It has nothing to do with you; I just don't want to see anyone right now.

Sincerely,
Sheridan

Kevin logged off of his computer after he went through his emails. Kevin was relieved after hearing from Sheridan. He had tried calling her a couple of times later that evening, after he stopped by the apartment. Noticing the time, he flopped on his bed, slowly he crawled under the covers and conked out for the night.

A few hours later, back on the East Coast, Angelina woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. Her head was pounding and required Advil. Slowly pulling off the covers, she squinted her eyes in order to read the clock, which read 6:48 AM. 'Oh great' she mumbled as she dragged her body to the bathroom.

Angelina was wide awake and hungry. After grabbing a bottle of water, she popped two slices of bread into the toaster. As she waited for her coffee to brew, she sat on the stool with her head in her hands, wondering what their plans were for the day. After last night's fiasco, she didn't know what kind of mood Nick would be in. She looked outside the window and could tell it was going to be a beautiful, clear day.

As the toast popped and the coffee dinged, Angelina felt her shoulders engulfed in a hug. "AHHH!" she yelled jumping off of the stool, "Nick, I've told you before, do not scare me. I hate surprises."

Angelina frowned as Nick laughed at her. Suddenly, Nick held his head in both hands as he sat in the stool vacated by Angel, "Ouch! Bad idea. No yelling and no laughing."

Walking over to Nick, Angelina handed him some Advil and water. "Here. Don't say I never gave you anything."

Nick smirked as a thought entered his mind but he kept his tongue in check. One more smartass comment from him would keep him in the doghouse for sure.

Angel went about getting her toast buttered and coffee fixed the way she liked it.
Nick interrupted her thoughts, "Thanks Angel for coming with me this weekend especially for last night. It means a lot to me." The seriousness in Nick's voice and the way he stared at her as he spoke made butterfly's flutter in Angelina's stomach.

"You're welcome." she genuinely answered him back.

"How about you and I go out on my boat today?" Nick asked as he reached across the counter and took her hand.

Looking into his eyes, Angel replied, "I'd love to."

"Great! Oh shit."

"What's the matter Nick?"

"Would you mind having the twins over for dinner tonight? I almost forgot; it's their birthday today."

Shaking her head, Angelina replied, "Not at all."

Bending down to give her a kiss, Nick whispered, "Thank you."

After the couple ate their breakfast and dressed, they packed up a lunch and snacks for the day. Grabbing her book and laptop, Angelina tossed them into her bag and headed down to where Nick's boat was docked.

Angelina noticed the time, 8:30AM as she applied sunscreen to her body. Knowing Nick, he hadn't put any on yet. "Hey Nick," she called to him.

"Yeah?"

"Do you need any sun block?"

Noticing he was a little pink from being out with Aaron the day before, Nick replied, "Yeah, if you got it."

As Angelina applied the sunscreen, Nick was explaining how to drive his boat. Once she finished, Nick put Angel in front of him so she could drive. She loved the scenery and how beautiful the ocean's waves were as they were cruising along. Turning her head back towards him, she said, "You know where that sea grass shit is, right?"

Groaning, Nick tickled Angel, "Very funny."

Grinning, she replied, "I know."

Meanwhile, back in Los Angeles, Sheridan slept in until noon. Looking at her clock, she was stunned. "Dammit, I'll never get to sleep tonight." Sighing, she went to the bathroom then checked the answering machine. After yesterday's incessant ringing of the telephone, she turned off the ringer. She rolled her eyes as the machine told her she had fourteen new messages: eleven from Tom, one from Angel and two from Kevin.

After setting up her coffee to brew, Sheridan turned on her computer to read her emails and quickly skim the BSB message boards for the latest information and gossip. Eventually, she would work on the project too.

"Well now, there's a surprise," Sheridan declared to no one.

SUBJECT: RE: I'm fine

Dear Sheridan,

Thank you for your email. I was a little concerned about your welfare after Nick called me yesterday. He said Angel was worried about you and he asked me if I would come over to check on you for her.

I can understand why you would want some alone time.

Call me if you want to talk.

If I don't hear from you beforehand, I'll see you at Thursday night's meeting.

Best,
KSR

'Seems someone had a late night,' Sheridan thought as she noticed the time on Kevin's e mail. Her mind raced, 'Thank God the boys will be gone a few days this week to Las Vegas.'

While sipping on her coffee, the doorbell rang. Sheridan groaned. Quietly walking over to the door, she winked to look through the peephole. She noticed Patrick standing there with a takeout bag from Taco Bell.

Slowly opening up the door, she smiled and said, "Hi."

Patrick grinned back at her as he held out the bag, "I got a call from Angel. She asked me to get this for you." Sheridan couldn't help but laugh and turn red with embarrassment. Her roommate was too clever and knew her inside and out.

Reaching for the bag, Sheridan said her thanks and closed the door back up. Patrick walked back to his apartment and called Angel back letting her know Sheridan seemed fine.

"Thanks Patrick," Angel said as Nick gave her a strange look, "I owe you one." Hanging up her cell phone, Nick crawled up Angel's lap with questioning eyes. He had dropped the anchor right before lunch and they stayed there, in the middle of nowhere, for a few hours.

"So, you're calling other men to do you favors?" Nick's tone was very suggestive.

"Oh yes, when it accomplishes what I want, yes I do," Angel teased back while wrapping her arms around his neck.

"I see how it is," Nick replied before capturing her lips.

Breaking their kiss, "Do you now?" Angel replied before sucking on his lower lip.

Taking her hand, Nick pulled Angel up, and led her to the cabin, "I think I owe you for doing me a huge favor this weekend."

Angel shook her head, "You don't owe me for anything Nick," but her words fell on deaf ears as he opened up the door to his bedroom. Seeing the desire in his eyes, "But if you feel the need to thank me, who am I to argue?"

Nick pushed Angel up against the door and began sucking on her neck. "I've watched you for a couple of hours now just lying around in your bikini," Nick gently nipped on her collarbone, "And I've wanted to make love to you since yesterday morning. But we haven't had much alone time."

"Alone time is nice," Angel was having a hard time focusing on their conversation as she was being transported to another state of desire. She ran her nails through his hair and down his back, bringing him closer to her.

Realizing he still had Angel pushed up against the door, Nick pulled back and brought her over to his bed. Gently laying her down, he used his teeth to untie her bikini top. Watching it drop to the floor, he began massaging her breasts. Using his mouth, he began sucking on her right nipple as he gently teased her left. Loving the way his mouth sent electric shock waves through her body, Angel arched her back as a low moan left her throat.

Noticing her reaction to his touches made Nick more aroused. Grinding his hips into Angel's body, she noticed that Nick needed some help releasing his package.

Raising her body up to meet his, she turned slowly and began to kiss him as she sat on his lap. Feeling his penis jerk as she grinded against him, she pushed Nick back down on the bed and sat on top of him. With an evil grin and his help, she pushed off his bathing suit. Now she sat on top of him, teasing him wearing her bikini bottoms.

"This needs to go," Nick said in a hoarse voice as his fingers slid under them, touching her gently.

Her reaction was quick, "No they don't," she said as she pushed the material to one side and slammed down on him, pushing her womanhood on his hardened member, surprising him. Nick's eyes flew open as Angel rode him, fast and hard. His breathing became irregular. Once getting over the initial shock of Angel's aggressive behavior, he met her strokes until she climaxed. After her walls tightened on him, he released his seed into her. Still connected, they both fell asleep in each other's arms.

'Well, this is a nice way to wake up,' Nick thought as he felt himself hard inside Angel. Not sure of the time, Nick slowly brought his wrist to his face to read his watch, 5:38PM. "Wake up sleepy head," Nick whispered into Angel's ear.

"Hmmm…" was her reply.

Nick laughed at her as he hugged her tight, "C'mon babe. We need to go cook dinner."

Angel's eyes popped open hearing his words, "Say what?" She slid off him and now curled up with his pillow.

Sitting up on the bed laughing, he swung his legs to the side, "Don't be so surprised woman. I can cook some stuff, ya know." Nick began putting on his swimming trunks and t-shirt.

Suddenly, Nick heard his cell phone ringing, "Perfect timing," Nick was grinning. Angel didn't know if it was the actual timing of his cell phone ringing or his climaxing tactics.

Not bothering to look at his caller ID, Nick just answered it, "Hello."

"Hey Nick, it's Sheridan. Sorry to bother you. I've been trying to get a hold of Angel for a while now. Is she with you?"

Looking over at Angel lying naked in his bed with just a sheet draped over her body, Nick's thoughts wandered.

"Hello?......... Nick? Are you still there?......Can ya hear me?"

Angel's head turned as she heard the voice of her roommate on the boat, "What the hell? Nick, is that Sheridan?"

Realizing he zoned out, he blushed as he handed the phone to Angel. He was rather embarrassed and walked out of the cabin shaking his head, laughing.

"Hey Sheridan, how are you?"

"I'm better. Thanks for having Nick call my fantasy man, alter ego, and the royal pain in the ass."

"Uh oh…that doesn't sound good. What did Kevin do?"

"Oh, he was fine. Only called three times and stopped over once. I decided to send him an email so he didn't think I was a complete snob."

"I'm sure he knows you're not."

"Yeah, I know. Hey, thanks for having Patrick bring by lunch," Sheridan said while giggling.

Angel was laughing. She was so proud of herself for thinking up the idea and actually having it work. "I knew if I could make it work, it would totally bring a smile to your face."

"Yes, it totally did," Sheridan was laughing at her roommate. Some days, Angel's Boston accent and select choice words would appear in her everyday vocabulary. It was worse when she drank though.

"Wicked. I'm so glad. Hey, I should be home tomorrow night around 10, I think. Will you be up?"

"Oh, I'm sure Nicky will convince you to stay at his place since he'll be gone a couple of nights this week, without you," Sheridan was now using her teasing voice.

"Ha ha. No, I'm not going to stay over. He's got stuff he needs to take care of and so do I."

"So, are you going to tell me what brought on this sudden weekend trip to Florida?" Sheridan knew something was up and her roommate knew exactly what it was.

Angelina whispered, "Yeah, I'll fill you in tomorrow night, if you are still up when I get home."

"Oh, I'll be up. Don't you worry. You've got some 'splainin' to do," Sheridan teased.

After hanging up the phone, Angel joined Nick up by the front of the boat. Wrapping her arms around him, she hugged him from behind.

"Here, you drive us back home," Nick grabbed her and brought her in front of him.

Noticing the sun setting, Angel was lost in thought as she stared off in the distance. It was breathtaking and a moment worth remembering. Nick noticed Angel's facial expression and smiled knowing exactly what she was thinking. He hugged her tightly and stared off at the sunset along with her.

Pulling up to the dock, Aaron greeted the couple.

"Where have ya been?" Aaron sounded perturbed.

Nick cocked his head at him, "Out on the boat for the day. What's wrong with you?"

Aaron mumbled, "Nothing. Just thought I was gonna get to hang out with you and Angelina today."

Angelina had heard Aaron's first question and immediately felt bad. She didn't even think about Aaron, who might want to hang out with Nick for awhile. Walking up to the younger man, Angelina began chatting while her hands started flying about, "Hey Aaron. I'm so sorry. I didn't realize you had made plans with Nick for today. Why don't you two plan on spending tomorrow together before we leave for the airport?" Angelina looked at Nick to see if she could read his face to see if this suggestion was a good one or not. Seeing his smile made her feel a bit better.

Aaron interrupted, "I'd like that, but I want you to be with us too. C'mon, it'll be a blast. Where would you like to go?"

Angelina looked quizzically at Nick. Going along with Aaron's suggestion, "Why don't we go someplace in Miami or South Beach? Our flights not 'til later in the afternoon, right?" Angel looked at Nick for confirmation.

"Sounds good to me. Dad was planning on driving us, but we can leave earlier and go out for lunch or something."

Aaron shook his head. He liked this idea. "That's a great idea."

"Now give us an hour to get cleaned up and get dinner ready," Nick said as he double-checked that the boat was moored tightly. Looking at his watch, "Why don't you and Angel come by around 7:30PM?"

Aaron agreed and helped the couple carry their belongings back to Nick's place.

Nick pulled out the steak that had been marinating and asked Angelina to make a pasta salad. Raising her eyebrow at him, she said, "When did all this food magically appear in your frig?"

Laughing, Nick replied, "I talked to BJ this morning and asked her to go pick up some groceries while we were out on the boat."

"Oh," Angelina said in a surprised voice, "Did you talk to your dad this morning too?"

Sucking in his cheeks, Nick shook his head no.

"Are you going to before we leave?" Angelina asked as she put water on for the pasta.

Shrugging his shoulders as he prepared the meat for the barbeque, "Honestly, I don't know. My parents' divorce is a complete mess, the family has been torn apart by it, and now with Aaron's money problems…it just seems like too much. I cannot believe my father is dating another woman when his family is falling apart and needs him. He's a selfish man and I honestly don't like him right now."

Angelina nodded her head hearing Nick's confession; she was floored. "I'm sorry Nick. I didn't realize how upset you are, although it's totally understandable, under the circumstances."

Walking outside to the grill, Nick put the meat on and came back inside giving Angelina a hug. Pushing the hair out of her face and behind her ear, he whispered, "I wish I could help. I wish I knew what to tell Aaron to do. But I honestly don't know."

"I'm sure your advice was very helpful. Besides, Aaron knows he can count on you."

Aaron and Angel arrived on time and had a wonderful dinner with the couple. Plans were made for them to come to Los Angeles the following weekend.

Walking in her front door, Angelina set down her luggage, keys, and purse. It had been a long and stressful day. Sheridan greeted her roommate with a glass of wine. Kicking off her sandals, Angel smiled, "How did you know I would need one of these as soon as I walked through the door?"

"By the tone in your voice all weekend, you sounded stressed. This wasn't a relaxing weekend of 'come meet my family' and hang out. Although, now that I think about it, meeting his family would be stressful. So, how was Jane?" Sheridan said with a snicker.

Swallowing her sip Angel replied, "Didn't meet her. She and Leslie are living in Parkland. But I did meet Bob, Aaron, Angel, and BJ."

"Was it something concerning their divorce that made Nick go back this weekend?" Sheridan was sitting Indian style on the couch waiting to hear the latest scoop.

"Well, not directly related. It involves Aaron and his finances actually." Angel told Sheridan everything that had happened and what she knew, including the news of Bob's fiancé.

Sheridan's mouth dropped open, "Say what?"

"His parent's are going through a nasty divorce. The kids are stuck in the middle and now with Aaron's financial issues, it's a freaking mess, and Nick feels helpless. He is pissed off at his dad for not being there for the other children too or at least Nick feels his dad isn't there for them emotionally. Bob is off gallivanting with some new, younger woman," Angel sighed, "I just tagged along for moral support."

"Well, you certainly have one hell of a tan for someone who just provided moral support. You must have had nice weather."

"Yeah we did." Angel then went on to tell Sheridan about the trouble Nick had with his father.

"After the argument on Saturday night, the tension between Nick and Bob was so thick, it could have been cut with a knife. We didn't see Bob at all yesterday. This morning, Bob drove us to Miami and dropped us off, along with Aaron. The car ride was so quiet. Nick sat in the backseat with me and made Aaron ride up front. Aaron sensed the tension too and asked me about it when Nick went to use the bathroom. I told him he should ask Nick. I had no idea who knew about Bob's fiancé and I wasn't about to tell Aaron. Aaron was feeling like all this was his fault. However, the time Nick did spend with Aaron was quite nice. The only conversation Nick had with his dad was that we wouldn't need him to get to the airport; we'd take a cab. They just talked about where and when to pick up Aaron so he could take him back home. That was the extent of their conversation after the fight on Saturday night. God Sheridan, it was a nightmare weekend. I can't wait to go back to work and get my mind focused on something else."

Sheridan emptied the second wine bottle in Angel's glass, "Here. You need this more than me right now."

"Thanks. I'm glad Nick will be with the boys this week in Vegas. They can give him better advice than I could. After all these years, they know his family. I hope he's able to have some fun at the Billboards. It should be relatively stress-free for all of them. So, tell me what else happened this weekend?"

"Nothing at all. Let's see my man is gay and he called twelve times. A tall, dark, and handsome man is tormenting me in my dreams; the same man that I refused to answer the door for or his phone calls. However, the jelly doughnuts that you had Patrick bring to me this morning were the highlight of my weekend, next to the Taco Bell lunch. But the doughnuts were a great substitute for the sex that I am no longer having and will never have again. I really think sugar is the answer to every woman's empty sex life." Sheridan stretched like a cat and began to turn away.

"You did not eat all six jelly doughnuts, did you?" Angel really didn't need to ask she could see Sheridan was coming down on her sugar high.

"Hell yeah!" Sheridan laughed as she mimicked Kevin's few curse words that were caught on tape. "I have Oprah to look forward to this week. I'm going to see the guys on television. I saw the commercial while you were gone."

Angel knew something wasn't connecting with Sheridan or she was more than high on sugar. Angelina sipped her wine and quietly snickered as she watched her friend retiring for the evening. "What a dip she is some days, she sees them four or fives times a week. Her next chapter should be pretty interesting."
